Pacific Surfliner Lace Cardigan

I finished this cardigan pattern today. It is posted on Ravelry.com under the name:

Pacific Surfliner Lace Cardigan

HPIM2706

This cardigan is knit from the bottom-up, sleeves and back. They are joined at the raglan yoke and knit in one piece.

Then, I knit the lace panel onto the cardigan. Like I have mentioned before, I love lace but am not so keen on lace shawls since they slide off me. :)

I The pattern is written for sizes XS, S, M, L, XL.

I knit the prototype in Cascade 220 Superwash at a looser gauge (16 sts = 4" stockinette stitch). I love to knit yarn at a looser gauge because it gives a nice drape.

What am I working on?

I love lace and actually enjoy knitting shawls. However, I do not like wearing shawls, they slip around and are not too practical (in my humble opinion). Thus, I am working on patterns for sweaters, t-shirts for the summer and cardigans that incorporate lace patterns.

The pattern is finished now and is available for free on Ravelry or you can download by clicking on the link:

Starting my Knitting Blog

I have been knitting for almost 40 years and have been designing my own sweaters and cardigans for a while now. The only thing has been that I had been calculating, designing and knitting for myself or my family mostly until friends encouraged me to formally write down my patterns and designs. So, I have starting doing so.

After my initial shock over just how much work it is to write down my designs in a way that others can understand and actually follow the instructions... I have so far published three patterns and am currently working on a few more.

Here are photos of my currently published patterns:
